![]() ![]() There, done, no difficulty at all, and no excess pressure needed. Within 30 seconds the 2nd side had popped up on the bead. I then let the air back out to relax the other side, added a bit of lube to the area that was reluctant to pop on and then re-inflated to 40psi and let it set for a bit. The label on the tire said "do not exceed 40psi to seat beads" despite the fact that the max pressure listed on the sidewall is 51psi? Oh well, just to prove that it could be done, I adhered to the 40psi rule just to prove to the naysayers it could be done. 2nd side, both knees on the near side to push it down into the dropped center of the rim, and 4-5 careful bites with the spoons and it was on. The first side went on by hand without spoons. No tire changer, just the wheel laying on a piece of cardboard on the floor. Mounted easily by hand with standard tire spoons and a bit of Go-Jo hand cleaner for lube. Well, I've made it, despite all the dire warnings of immediate and gory death, I've survived so far, and will continue the journey.įYI, this is the same tire member RufusBarkley recently mounted on his RGC. ![]()
